Job Description

Digital Marketing Manager

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year —if you're a better fit for another role, we'll route your application accordingly and if we're not quite ready for you, we'll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don't do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas and expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As a Digital Marketer, you'll play a key role in driving brand awareness, engagement, and conversion through strategic digital marketing initiatives. You won't just execute campaigns—you'll shape digital strategy, optimize performance, and leverage data-driven insights to ensure maximum impact.

This role requires a combination of creativity, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of digital marketing channels. You'll be responsible for everything from paid campaigns to content marketing, ensuring that every initiative aligns with business objectives and delivers measurable results.

Accountability

Your success as a Digital Marketer will be measured by your ability to develop and execute high-impact digital marketing campaigns that drive engagement, lead generation, and business growth.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

Strategic Digital Marketing Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with our client's business goals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the digital landscape.
  • Identify and prioritize key digital channels for maximum impact, including SEO, SEM, social media, email, and content marketing.

Paid Advertising & Performance Marketing

  • Plan, launch, and manage PPC campaigns across Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize campaigns to maximize ROI and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Leverage A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, and data analytics to refine campaign performance.

Content & Social Media Marketing

  • Develop and manage high-quality content, including blogs, articles, infographics, and videos, to align with brand messaging and goals.
  • Implement social media strategies to build brand awareness and foster audience engagement.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent, timely delivery of content across all digital channels.
  • Monitor social media performance, engage with followers, and manage community interactions.

Email Marketing & Lead Nurturing

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and retain customers.
  • Conduct A/B testing and optimize email campaigns based on performance data.

Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Track, analyze, and report on the performance of all digital marketing activities using analytics tools.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to continuously improve marketing strategies and campaign effectiveness.
Colleagues

Your primary stakeholder will be your client, and cross-functional teams in the business such as sales, product, and design, ensuring that marketing initiatives are aligned with overall business objectives. You'll also collaborate with external partners and vendors to optimize digital marketing efforts, as required.

At Oceans, you'll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you're continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Digital Marketer, your vertical focus will be digital strategy and performance marketing, while your horizontal focus will span content marketing, data analysis, and campaign optimization.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in digital marketing, with hands-on experience in paid advertising, content marketing, and performance optimization.
  • Education: A degree in Marketing, Business, or relevant work experience.
  • Digital Marketing Tools & Platforms: Proficiency in Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, and marketing automation platforms like HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to interpret data, track KPIs, and make data-backed decisions to improve marketing performance.
  • Expertise in Performance Marketing: Deep understanding of PPC, display advertising, social media advertising, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple campaigns, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Understanding of UX & Customer Journey Mapping: Ability to create seamless user experiences that drive conversions and engagement.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Digital Strategy & Campaign Execution: How have you developed and executed successful digital marketing campaigns?
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: How have you used analytics to optimize campaign performance?
  • Content & Social Media Strategy: How have you leveraged content to drive engagement and brand awareness?
  • PPC & Performance Marketing: How have you managed and optimized paid campaigns for maximum ROI?
  • Email Marketing & Lead Generation: How have you nurtured leads and improved customer retention through email marketing?
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management: How have you worked with other teams to align marketing efforts with business goals?
Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client's time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us. During the offer process, we'll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
