Pay Rate: $1,900.00 - $2,100.00 gross per week

Travel: Yes - on site lodging, $600.00/month

Assignment Length: 13 weeks from start w/ chance to extend  

EMR: Allscripts

Schedule: 3x12's with possibility of picking up 4th shift  

• Fluid days per week
• Must be open to days & nights 
• Schedule is made weeks in advance, you will have aware of Day v night ahead of time
• **1st week orientation will be M-F 8hr days; most get through orientation/trainings in 2 days, after completing you will transition to agreed upon assignment schedule.**

Additional Details about the position

• Administer volume oriented intermittent positive pressure breathing therapy (IPPB); chest physical therapy (CPT) i.e., percussion, vibration and postural drainage; aerosol therapy; incentive spirometry therapy; and mixed gas therapy treatments.
• Provide patient assessments during rounds of treatments/medication administration and/or mechanical ventilator checks.
• Provide pre-operative instruction regarding post- operative respiratory therapy modalities; instruction for home respiratory care; and instruction for breathing retraining.
• Initiate, monitor and discontinue all modes of oxygen therapy and initiates, monitor and discontinue all modes of supplemental airway humidification, including ultrasonic nebulizers, continuous aerosols and humidity tents in conjunction with physician’s orders.
• Obtain and/or induce adequate sputum specimens for lab analysis. Inspect, clean, test and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, orders repair when necessary.
• Provide diagnostic evaluation of spirometric and pulmonary mechanics to include vital capacity, peak flow, forced expiratory volume and/or flow rates.
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue mechanical support of ventilation. Perform weaning parameters, extubation, and evaluate need for further airway support and communicates with the physician. Wean patients from ventilators per department policy and procedure. Perform patient assessment duties. Charts in the patient record summary of all therapy modalities administered..

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 year minimum relative experience

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

• BLS (AHA Only) - Upon Submittal
• ALCS (AHA Only) - Before start date (2 weeks before)
• PALS (AHA Only) - Before start date (2 weeks before)
• NRP (AHA Only) - Before start date (2 weeks before)

LICENSURE REQUIREMENT  

• Must have and maintain a current valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license from any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
• Must have and maintain a current valid Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

ABOUT THE FACILITY

This facility is a 73-bed regional referral medical center in Tuba City, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. Our service area is 6,000 square miles and covers the western region of the Navajo, Hopi, and San Juan Paiute Reservations.

In 2021, we received over 250,000 patient visits a year at the main campus and at satellite facilities in Flagstaff, at Sacred Peaks Clinic; LeChee Health & Wellness Facility near Page, a clinic at Bodaway/Gap, Cameron, and the Kaibeto Creek Independent Living Center. A mobile health program also travels to remote corners of the service area.
